7 Core Elements of Democracy

Element Description:

A democracy provides rights and freedoms to all people, including minorities. There is equal treatment under the law, meaning everyone is treated fairly in the court system, regardless of race, gender, or socioeconomic status. A democracy also provides basic freedoms such as speech, religion, and the press, while placing limits on government power.

These protections help prevent the government or majority from unfairly restricting people’s rights.
